2007 Sno-King Basketball

                                                                              clin·ic
                            n.   A brief group session offering counsel or instruction in a particular field or activity

  • The Pre-K Clinic “Rookie Basketball” is designed for four year olds, and children who are almost four. The season will be six Saturdays, beginning January 12th. Each Saturday will begin with a 30 minute practice and be followed by a 30 minute game.

2007 was the inaugural season of the Sno-King Pre-K (Rookie) Clinic. It is meant to be a player's first introduction to the game of basketball. If this is not to be your child's first introduction to the sport, even if your child is four years of age, you may want to consider placing him/her into the K-Clinic (players can play up an age group, but not down). Coaching children under the age of six presents some challenges due to their immaturity, short attention spans, and less developed muscles. For this reason, we introduce the sport in a clinic setting, where practices and games nearly blend together (1/2 hr practice followed by a 1/2 hr game), and instruction time is limited to one hour, once/week (Saturdays only).

Our objective is for all the kids in this clinic to have fun, make friends, and learn the general concept of the game of basketball. Introducing the game in such an environment, we hope, will keep them playing as their bodies and minds mature to a point where they can apply a few basic skills to the concepts learned in this clinic.

  • The K-Clinic is designed for Kindergarteners. This season will begin January 12th and will run on Saturdays for ten weeks. The first four Saturdays will be practices; the last six Saturdays will be games.

The K-Clinic is meant to be an introduction to the game of basketball. More than conceptual though, this clinic will focus on the basic skills associated with the game; dribbling, shooting, passing. Coaching children under the age of six presents some challenges due to their immaturity, short attention spans, and less developed muscles. For this reason, we introduce the sport in a clinic setting, where practices and games are brief instructionals limited to one hour, once/week (Saturdays only).

Our objective is for all the kids in this clinic to have fun, make friends, and learn some of the basic skills associated with the game of basketball. Introducing these skills in such an environment, we hope, will keep them playing and help them should they decide to continue to the next level.
